Windy City

Chicago

In Chicago for a couple of days at a News production conference. Autumn further here that in the Netherlands. TV is wall to wall Bush/Kerry. Nothing else covered. It is almost like a Civil War between North & South..people are very divided.

O'Hare had an excellent system for processing visitors. I was through in a couple of minutes, rather than a couple of hours. Broadband in the hotel for 7 Euros a day - now why can't Amsterdam figure that out?

Welcome to the Windy City Jonathan! Looking forward to getting together tomorrow!

Chitown is also the home of "This American Life" hosted by Ira Glass. Great radio/sound projects. Hard to explain and that is the fun bit. Their site is at:

http://www.thislife.org/

I've also been thrilled to discover:

http://www.transom.org/

for people who value "documentary TV shows, without pictures" or would that be radio features for thinkers???

They are much more than a 'gear site' although they do have some useful advice there. You'll find thinking creative folks willing to share. While part of radio has been killed by the Internet, another more creative area is burgeoning. Exciting times! They also have a nice piece on Ira Glass.

Cheers!
